School Bus Driver Training Classes

The next class will be announced when scheduled.

Class sizes are limited to 15 attendees due to room capacity.

Call the Transportation Department @ 910 259-0141 to reserve a seat.

Classes are held at the Pender County Schools Resource Center located at 798 US HWY 117 South 
Burgaw, NC.

Class times:    8:30 am. until 3:00 pm.

Attendees must attend all three days of class.

To be eligible to be a school bus driver you must be at least 18 years old and have at least six months driving experience as a licensed operator of a motor vehicle before employment as a regular or substitute driver.

All attendees must attend all three days of classroom instruction.

Once the classroom portion is completed and the written examination is passed, class attendees will be scheduled for at least 3 days of behind the wheel training. Drivers must pass the driving test at the end of the driving portion of class.

All drivers must pass a criminal background check and pass the pre-employment drug test before being considered for employment.
