Pender County Schools      Exceptional Children Services Laura Weber, Lead Teacher - Autism     I am here to help: EC Staff Administrators Classroom Teachers Parents and above all STUDENTS!  Some services I can help provide:                                                                              Educating staff and students about Autism Spectrum Disorders                                          Training staff and parents on strategies for working with children with ASD                          Observation of student in classroom(s)                                                                           Provide ideas/information regarding student needs                                                        Assistance with classroom set up and adaptation of materials                                           Visual supports:  Ideas & assistance with making materials                                               Behavior Plans:  Individual or Classroom plans for students with ASD                                Academic Supports:  Ideas and materials for instructing students with ASD                       Social Skills Instruction:  Collaboration with staff to set up social skills groups on at least a weekly basis for direct instruction of social skill deficits                                             Peer Leadership Program:  Collaboration with staff to set up peer leadership groups at each  school (especially at the middle and high school level) to promote social inclusion of students with ASD Parent Training of basic Behavior Management Principles and information about Autism
