My name is Karen Williams Burton. I was born and raised in Burgaw, NC and feel very loyal to the students in Pender County. Currently, I am the High School AIG Coach for the Gifted for Heide Trask High School and Topsail High School. It is my goal to ensure that each high school AIG student strive to do their best and succeed with all their goals and dreams.
I am married to Davis Burton and have one daughter, Courtney who is a junior at UNCW. My hobbies include: spending time with my family, reading, and going to the beach. My hero is my dad, Whrens Williams. I am fortunate to still have both of my grandmothers and I enjoy spending quality time with them.
I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from UNCW in December of 1986 and begin working for Pender County Schools. In December of 1996, I earned my Masters in Language and Literacy K-12 from UNCW and am also a National Board Certified Teacher.
