Victoria “Tori” Brady took classes from Cape Fear Community College in Burgaw through continuing education studies this summer, including six weeks in classroom instruction and two weeks in clinical at the Pender Memorial Hospital Skilled Nursing Department learning the skills necessary to pass the State Nursing Aid Qualifying Exam. Brady, was the only high school student in the class of eight, but she said she enjoyed the interactions with the other classmates and instructors at CFCC.
Brady can now work at places such as nursing homes and health care facilities. She said she plans to earn her bachelor's degree in nursing and work full-time as a registered nurse.
